Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan continues to follow the recommendations of the CDC, MIOSHA, and Kent County Health Department relating to infection prevention and masking rules, which includes wearing masks in healthcare facilities. Masks must be worn regardless of vaccination status when inside OAM facilities. Your mask should fit properly and over your mouth and nose.

Due to concerns associated with Coronavirus, and for the safety of our patients and employees, we are asking that if you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, you contact our office at 616-459-7101 prior to your appointment. Have you, your visitor, or anyone you have had close contact with:

  • Traveled Internationally in the past 10 days?
  • Experienced any symptoms of COVID-19?
  • Tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days?
  • Had a known exposure to anyone that has symptoms of COVID-19 or anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days?
  • Have you resided in a rehab facility, nursing home, detention center of correctional facility in the past 10 days?



Our patient and staff safety is one of our top priorities and we will continue to put forth extensive efforts to maintain a sanitary and clean environment. This includes thoroughly sanitizing and cleaning our locations daily.

We continue to do our very best to offer alternative appointments and ensure the safety of our patients and employees. We offer telehealth visits which are both virtual and telephonic.

All Patients: We ask that you register in your car and wait to be called into the office. Please stay in your car in our designated waiting area and call the number you are provided to start your appointment.

Appointment Information

OAM has partnered with Phreesia to offer you the ability to complete the check-in process remotely prior to your appointment. You will receive a text message and/or email that contains a link to privately pre-register a few days before your visit, making your arrival at the office quick and simple. If you did not receive the registration link, please call our office at 616-459-7101.

On the day of your appointment, you will receive a text message to let us know when you have arrived. Please wait in your car until you receive further instruction from staff notifying you when to enter the building. Please bring a mask as you will need to wear one when entering the office.

At this time, we are limiting visitors at all locations. Two visitors may accompany an adult patient to their appointment and both parents may accompany a minor patient to their appointment. At this time, we are also allowing case managers at OAM. We currently ask that any Vendors please stop by the concierge desk in the main entryway at the Leffingwell and Leonard Street Offices and at the main registration desks at our other locations to drop off information.

OAM NOW Urgent Orthopaedic Care Clinic asks that upon arrival you remain in your car, call (616) 956-1070, and choose option 1. You will be sent a text message with a link to register for your visit. Please wait in your car for a call from clinical staff who will direct you to enter the building. Please bring a mask as you will need to wear one when entering the office.
