His training spans a five-year residency in Grand Rapids, as well as a sports medicine fellowship in Aspen, Colorado.

While in Aspen, he served on a physician team that treated the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams, World Cup skiers, NHL Aspen All-Stars, as well as athletes from ESPN's Winter X-Games, NORBA (National Off-Road Biking Association) national finals, and Aspen's high school football and soccer teams. What's more, he managed acute ski and snowboard injuries at the Aspen/Snowmass Ski Area Trauma Clinic.
