Clifford B. Jones, MD
Dr. Jones specializes in trauma, adult and pediatric fracture care, infections, osteomyelitis, amputations, nonunions, malunions, pelvic fractures, acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, spine problems, and foot and ankle trauma. He holds a medical degree from the Indiana University Medical School and completed his orthopaedic training in the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program, culminating with a rigorous subspecialty year of orthopaedic trauma at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center which consisted of extensive surgery and research with spinal fractures, pelvic fractures, acetabular fractures, foot and ankle injuries, and articulator and long bone fractures.Having a strong affiliation with the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and Major Extremity Trauma Research Consortium (METRC), Dr. Jones participates in ongoing trauma updates, multi-center studies, and grants from such prestigious organizations as the Department of Defense (DOD). As a fellowship-trained orthopaedic traumatologist, he strives to expand and improve the trauma care at OAM and in West Michigan and make Spectrum Butterworth Hospital a top-level trauma center.
Dr. Jones is a sought-after researcher, professor and lecturer. His research has been nationally recognized in peer reviewed high impact medical journals. He is a guest editor for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and the Journal of Trauma. Dr. Jones has given hundreds of lectures, written numerous book chapters, and has conducted a live web cast on proximal femoral fractures.
