We continue to have a tremendous outpouring of support from medical and non-medical personnel throughout the community. We have a confirmed commitment to partner with Partners In Health at Double Harvest for the next several months and likely beyond for an indefinite period of time. I thank everyone who has contributed their support to the effort.
I wanted to share a story from my last day in Haiti. A child who had undergone a below-knee amputation (and went home afterward on crutches that we had fashioned for her) returned for her post-op check up on those crutches—making a seven mile journey to be seen. Remarkably she was doing wonderfully well and I was absolutely floored when she presented us with handwritten thank you notes with colored pictures on them. To be able to express such gratitude was touching and really representative of the spirit of the Haitian people. With our help (OAM, West Michigan and American’s help in general) I am certain that they will recover.
Please note that our web site contains links to contribute to the cause and I would encourage everyone to consider a donation to Partners In Health or Double Harvest during this difficult and costly time.

I would like to inquire about participating in the relief effort. I am trained and have been in sterile processing for many years. If in fact there is a need for that particular kind of support I would like to be considered. Any information can be sent directly to my email. Thank you, Jennifer Collins
